An ordinary lazy river with a flood mechanism built in. Water is stored at height behind gates along the channel and released in a sudden surge, so riders in a calm river ride are periodically caught by a flash flood - the same water, entirely transformed.

The Extreme River is a new type of lazy river upgraded from the ordinary format. Its defining feature is a flood mechanism: water is stored at a certain height along the river and held behind gates, and at set times the gates are opened suddenly, releasing the stored volume as a large surge wave that travels down the channel like a flash flood.
For most of the circuit the river rides like a conventional lazy river, with guests floating at their own pace. When the flood gates release, the stored water forms a surge that sweeps down the channel, and riders are carried up and over the crest of the wave before the river subsides again. The contrast is the whole point: the same channel delivers calm floating and a genuine flood surge within the same ride cycle, and riders can challenge the surging flood in the ups and downs rather than simply drifting through. The water depth is capped at 1.6 metres, keeping the format suitable for general family use.
The system uses a 45 kW machine to move and hold the water volume, and water depth reaches a maximum of about 1.6 metres. Because the flash-flood mechanism is retrofitted onto the river rather than replacing it, the Extreme River occupies the same channel infrastructure as a standard lazy river, and the flood release can be scheduled - every twenty or thirty minutes, for example - so that guests floating the circuit experience the surge several times per ride and the event becomes predictable enough to draw a crowd.
Extreme River is engineered as a complete water-retaining structure, combining a reinforced concrete or steel pool shell, waterproofing, balance tanks, overflow galleries and a closed-loop water treatment system. Pumps, filtration and disinfection are sized to the unit's flow demand so water clarity and hygiene are maintained through peak attendance, and all wetted components are selected for corrosion resistance in continuously chlorinated water.
Extreme River is designed and manufactured in accordance with GB 8408-2018 (Safety Code for Large Amusement Devices), GB/T 18164-2020, GB/T 18168-2017 (General Technical Conditions for Water Amusement Facilities) and TSG 71-2023 (Safety Technical Regulations for Large Amusement Devices). Haisan holds the manufacturing and installation licences required for large amusement devices, and every unit passes in-factory testing and on-site commissioning before handover.
Haisan supplies Extreme River as part of a full-process package covering concept and layout design, structural calculation, manufacture, shipping, on-site installation, plumbing and electrical works, commissioning, operator training and long-term after-sales support. Because equipment is engineered in modules, delivery and installation can be phased to match the park's construction programme.
