Tsunami Wave Pool

Vacuum wave-making at destination scale. A 4,000 square metre minimum pool and waves to 2.2 metres produce the turbulent, churning ocean experience that smaller blower-fed pools cannot - built for parks where the wave pool is the headline attraction.

  • ● Pool Area: 4,000 sqm minimum
  • ● Wave Height: 0.6-2.2 m
  • ● Machine Power: 75 kW or 95 kW
  • ● Control Mode: central control and field control
  • ● Wave Generation: vacuum wave-making technology
  • ● Positioning: the largest single water area in a destination water park

Waves at ocean scale - the attraction a destination park is built around.

  • Vacuum Wave-Making

a water-driven machine displaces the pool volume directly for a bigger wave field.

  • Up to 2.2 m Waves

an envelope that supports genuine surfing and wave-riding activity.

  • 4,000 sqm Minimum Pool

the largest single water area in a destination water park.

  • 75 or 95 kW Machine

power is matched to pool geometry and required wave height.

The Tsunami Wave Pool - also called the vacuum wave-making pool - is the high-output wave technology in Haisan's range, designed for water parks where the wave pool is the central attraction rather than a secondary feature. Where a pneumatic system blows air, the vacuum system uses a large water-driven machine to displace the pool volume directly, which is how it produces both a bigger wave and a much larger wave field.

How It Works

Riders enter a pool of 4,000 square metres or more and experience waves running from 0.6 up to 2.2 metres. The larger wave envelope supports the full range of wave pool activities: riding the swell, fighting against the waves, torrent surfing and wave floating. The experience is markedly more powerful than a blower-fed pool - the scale of the wave and the size of the pool combine to produce the turbulent, ocean-like conditions that give the attraction its name. The pool is operated from both a central control system and a field control position, allowing staff to adjust the wave programme to demand.

Configuration and Layout

The pool requires a minimum area of 4,000 square metres, and the wave machine is specified at either 75 kW or 95 kW depending on pool geometry and the required wave height. The larger machine power and pool volume are what deliver the higher wave envelope: with a maximum wave height of 2.2 metres the Tsunami Wave Pool occupies a different operational category from a pneumatic pool and is normally positioned as the largest single water area in a destination park. Water depth and beach grading are designed together with the wave field so that the wave breaks predictably across the full pool width.

Engineering and Materials

Tsunami Wave Pool is engineered as a complete water-retaining structure, combining a reinforced concrete or steel pool shell, waterproofing, balance tanks, overflow galleries and a closed-loop water treatment system. Pumps, filtration and disinfection are sized to the unit's flow demand so water clarity and hygiene are maintained through peak attendance, and all wetted components are selected for corrosion resistance in continuously chlorinated water.

Safety and Compliance

Tsunami Wave Pool is designed and manufactured in accordance with GB 8408-2018 (Safety Code for Large Amusement Devices), GB/T 18164-2020, GB/T 18168-2017 (General Technical Conditions for Water Amusement Facilities) and TSG 71-2023 (Safety Technical Regulations for Large Amusement Devices). Haisan holds the manufacturing and installation licences required for large amusement devices, and every unit passes in-factory testing and on-site commissioning before handover.

Delivery and Support

Haisan supplies Tsunami Wave Pool as part of a full-process package covering concept and layout design, structural calculation, manufacture, shipping, on-site installation, plumbing and electrical works, commissioning, operator training and long-term after-sales support. Because equipment is engineered in modules, delivery and installation can be phased to match the park's construction programme.
